People submit when they are desperate and weak, when they have lost all hope, when their dreams have been killed, and their confidence shattered, when they can no longer trust anyone, not even themselves, when the tangible has become too painful for them that most are once again willing to give up all control. Submission is an attempt to go back to the imagined safety and warmth of the erstwhile prison-house, once again embracing the delusion that it represents a haven from chaos and uncertainty, and perhaps even a loving womb.
